Bio

Growing up in a very musical family, I learned the value and joy that the arts can bring at a very young age. Between my Dad who is a Saxophone, Piano, Clarinet, Flute, and Guitar player as well as a singer; and my Mom who is a visual artist and teacher, I was exposed to all spectrums of the artistic field from the beginning of my life. Some of my fondest childhood memories stem from me sitting on stage watching my Dad rock the house! I knew even as a kid that I wanted to stay with music, that I wanted to play and teach. I began playing the saxophone when I was 8 years old and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with playing. I ended up taking my love of performance and teaching to Texas Tech where I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Performance. Through my young musical career I have spent time performing in the Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Funk genres. I have spent time touring on the road with several Blues and Jazz bands over the past few years. In addition to my performance experience I have also spent several years working in the Professional Audio field as a Front of House Engineer running live sound for concerts. I began my teaching career in Mesquite, Tx as a substitute teacher and private lessons teacher teaching saxophone, then moved to the San Antonio area for my first full time position as a Band Director. I then continued my teaching career as an Assistant Band Director for Red Oak Junior High, and had the honor of serving in that capacity for two years. I am now the Music Piano and Theory instructor at Red Oak High School!!!!

I feel extremely fortunate to be involved in the music program here in Red Oak and could not have asked for a more welcoming environment to come into!!!!
