Experience

I began teaching French in 2011 at C. E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. I was also the Vice President of the Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers' Association before moving to Texas.

As a French language student, I spent two summers at a full immersion (no English allowed) university program in Nova Scotia, Canada, as well as a two full semesters studying teaching methods and the French language at a university in Mons, Belgium. After that, I spent a summer in the French Alps interning in a French high school.

As a teacher, I have completed programs for teachers of French at the Université de Liège in Liège, Belgium and also at the Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada.

Bio

I was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. Growing up, I was always interested in the fact that my great-grandfather and other ancestors had been raised speaking Cajun French in South Louisiana. It was for this reason that I began studying the language and Cajun culture in middle school.

Some of the things I enjoy are cooking, plants, travelling, and my pug, Harvey.
